Parents, students, teachers, and others involved with Oak Grove Bands — welcome to your new website. This website has been started and will be maintained by volunteer parents and friends of Oak Grove bands. No school district resources are used in the maintenance of this site (see Disclaimer).
My name is Ron Combs, parent of eighth-grader, Ryan. A co-worker of mine was involved with the Blue Springs Golden Regiment and got me into looking at their band website. I found that many other schools had their own sites and thought it would be a good idea for us to have one, too.
Ryan's Uncle Tony has designed several sites, including Ryan's baseball team, and volunteered to help design and maintain a site for the school bands. Tony and I have registered our own domain name to be used for the band site. The registration fee is nominal and will be paid by me as a donation to this project. I will also serve as a coordinator of site content between Tony, the band teachers, and other parents.
At first, we plan to build content for the Middle School only as a "test run" to see how things go. We will eventually include the High School Bands at an undetermined future date.
Pictures are a big part of all the band websites I looked at. Please notify us or band teachers if you have any objection to individual or group pictures which include your child being placed on the site. We do not plan to provide names or any personal information about individuals without the permission of the parents.
You may view other school sites around the country by clicking on "Links" then click on "Marching". This will bring you to the Marching.com website. Click on their "links" link, select one of the states listed, then select a school site. This will give you an idea of how other sites are done. We want our site to be unique. However, if you see something on another site which you feel would be useful, please let us know.
